So, my last post about Vacation City concerned the back story of the city. I hope to expand upon that by introducing some of the game's protagonists here. So, without further ado:
Soil Whitefeather - Soil's parents were hippies who gave up their nature-loving ways to raise their son. They own a farm on the outskirts of Mulligan, and they grow organic vegetables and sell them at the market in town. Soil himself is a high school senior at the local school, and isn't the most popular student ever. He enjoys video games, animals, and exploring Mulligan Woods, and wants to be a veterinarian or forest ranger when he graduates college. He works at the local pet store/animal shelter, and spends much of his earnings at the local arcade. He doesn't have a car, and enjoys riding his bike. His fellow students find him to be weird due to his name, and he has trouble making friends due to all the rumors floating around about his family. After his accident, his latent psychic powers manifest. He wields a walking stick as a weapon, and his powers are focused on nature and life.
Jonathon and Joseph Giovanni - Identical twins who are inseparable. Jon is the older brother, and the meeker of the two. He is also stronger psychically. Joe is the younger brother, and more outspoken than his brother. He is more athletic than his brother, and fights in front of his twin, protecting him. The two care deeply for each other, and "use" each other as foci for their powers. They are both juniors in Mulligan High School. Jon wants to be a physical therapist, and Joe wants to be a martial arts instructor, but the two don't want to be separated, so they are uncertain of their futures. They both have their blackbelts in karate, and use that as their weapon in battle. Jon focuses his psionics on his brother, who in turn focuses his powers on himself to maximise their potential. Due to this strange methodology, their powers are mostly based around auras and transformations.
Maxwell Iglesias - Max is a video game addict. A second generation Spanish immigrant, Max works at the local arcade and thus plays free. He moved to Mulligan only a few years ago. He is a senior in high school, but has no friends outside of his online buddies. He hopes to be a game designer when he grows up. He is well known amongst his classmates for never being seen without his GamePod, a portable video game system. What his classmates don't know is that he is a psychic prodigy who uses his GamePod to manifest a heroic (if slightly pixely) avatar to fight for him, so it functions as both weapon and focus!
Delores Smith - Delores hates her parents, hates the school, and just generally hates the world. Nothing personal. A goth who spends her time knee-deep in brooding poems, books on witchcraft, and new-age scribblings. Her parents, in an attempt to break her of her gothitude, forced her to move to Mulligan and live with her grandparents, so she's almost never at home - she spends all her time at the local Occult Bookstore, owned by Soil's uncle Charles (who is also an influential member of the SPS), much to her parent's chagrin. Her weapon is her black cat Spooky, who was infused with PKE at a young age and grew quite intelligent as a result. Her powers have a dark and "witchy" theme to them, and she refers to them as "spells".
Lonny Smith - Delores' cousin who lives with his grandparents. He loves them deeply, and helps care for them. He's quite popular at the school for his athleticism and kind nature. His only drawback is his gullible nature, as he tends to take things at face value and act without thinking. His dream is to play professional baseball, but he also wants to look into joining the military. He's a senior, and easily the tallest of all the students at 6'7''. He wields a baseball bat, and his powers focus on sports.
Jessica Thomas - The mayor's daughter. Cheerleader. Wants to be a lawyer.
Jason Brown - Charles' son. Well-known amongst the psychic circuit. Wants to be a professional medium. Wields a pair of toy guns named Love and Peace. Powers are based around spirits.
I'll think more on this.
